Biomethane is a renewable gas based on biogenic materials. It is almost carbon-neutral, stabilizes natural cycles and creates added value and regional jobs. However, not all types of biomethane are the same. Different areas of application emerge depending on the raw materials involved. The green gas can be made from waste products, manure and residual materials just as well as from renewable raw materials.
As a source of energy, biomethane can generate renewable electricity and heat, used as a fuel or as biogas for private households. In terms of its components, it is identical to natural gas – biomethane can substitute natural gas 1:1. Be sure to exploit the benefits biomethane has to offer.

Looking to produce biomethane or already producing it?
We can provide you with the biomethane qualities and quantities you need. Whether as a gas blend, a biofuel for your CNG or LNG station or in the form of certificates – we will make sure you get the right product for your customers.
We are happy to advise you on the possible applications of the various types of biomethane, on potential remuneration under the German Renewable Energies Act (EEG), on the renewable federal and state heat legislation and on biofuel quota regulations.
Everybody is talking about the role of combined heat and power (CHP) and flexible gas plants in the energy transition. The Renewable Energy Act (EEG) enables economically competitive renewable CHP based on biomethane.
With the enactment of the EEG 2023, existing natural gas CHP systems have lost the option to switch the fuel to biomethane and join the attractive EEG remuneration system. For new CHP plants, this option still remains, although the requirements for remuneration conditions have become more demanding. Nevertheless, the EEG 2023 offers exciting opportunities for new projects through its long-term secured electricity remuneration and the flexibility surcharge over 20 years. Furthermore, the production of green heat presents ongoing prospects for the future.
Get in touch with us! We assist you in transitioning from natural gas to biomethane in your CHP plant.

Offer your customers a climate-friendly and extremely efficient alternative to natural gas – at the same price. All natural gas vehicles can also run on biomethane in the form of bio-CNG or bio-LNG without the need for any technical modifications. For gas stations, the renewable gas is produced exclusively from residual materials and manure; no energy crops are used.
Moreover, biomethane is supported as fuel in the biofuels quota regulations. Since 2018, gas stations have also played a role in helping to fulfil the GHG quota when switching fuels. We will help you market the quota to oil companies that have to meet quota obligations.
By producing biomethane, you can are able to reap the benefits of all potential in your biogas plant. Take advantage of our expertise – we have supported many projects related to biomethane and are biomethane producers ourselves. We’ll be glad to consult you.
